Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Yellow Brick Road, a charming café nestled in the heart of Kompleks Pejabat Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. This delightful eatery has earned its reputation for a thoughtful menu, vibrant atmosphere, and generous portions that leave diners raving.

Stepping into Yellow Brick Road, you’ll instantly feel the warm and inviting ambiance, perfect for both casual brunches and catch-ups with friends. The café captures the spirit of exploration and comfort, just like its name suggests. Though it can get bustling, the lively atmosphere adds to the experience rather than detracts from it, a characteristic many patrons appreciate.

The menu offers a tantalizing selection of dishes that showcase a blend of local and international influences. Diners have praised the Salted Egg Squid Pasta for its rich, creamy sauce complemented by perfectly battered squid, creating a delightful texture and flavor. Another standout dish is the Cheesy Mr Mac, known for its perfectly balanced creaminess that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. Customers can expect ample portions, ensuring that no one leaves hungry!

For those with a penchant for refreshing drinks, Yellow Brick Road's selection is sure to please. While some guests have found the juices refreshing yet standard, others have enjoyed specialty beverages like the mixed berries lemonade, a palate-cleanser that brightens the dining experience. Additionally, the Australian Iced Coffee served with a delightful scoop of vanilla ice cream has won many hearts, creating a creamy indulgence as the ice cream melts into the coffee.

When it comes to dessert, the YBR Tiramisu is a must-try. Its layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and airy mascarpone create a sweet, melt-in-your-mouth experience that is both light and satisfying. The flavors leave a lasting impression, begging to be revisited on your next outing.

The attentive staff shine even when the café is busy, ensuring diners feel welcome and well-cared for. Nizzam Baharuddin remarked on the lively energy, though mentioned that the acoustic ambiance could use some improvement for those seeking a more intimate dining experience. Tucked away in a bustling location, waiting might be in order, especially during peak hours, but the rewards of the dishes served more than make up for it.

Whether you’re popping in for a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely brunch, Yellow Brick Road offers a delightful culinary journey that enchants all who visit. It’s a space where flavors come together harmoniously, welcoming you back time and time again. Be sure to stop by and explore their offerings—you won’t be disappointed!

For the pasta, we tried the Salted Egg Squid Pasta and Cheesy Mr Mac. Honestly, it's very very good. My salted egg pasta is pretty delicious. The savoury is just enough to not overwhelm you. Added to that with the crispy fried battered squid, and you got yourself a delightful meal! The Cheesy Mr Mac is also pretty good. It's not too creamy, which can be a tight rope to balance with these kinds of dishes. And the portions, oh my God. There were plenty, I almost didn't manage to finish my food. My friend certainly didn't finish hers. For drinks we just ordered juices. It's okay. I mean it's pretty refreshing, but I wouldn't say it's the best I ever had or anything. The only downside of the place is the acoustics aren't very good. So the place is quite noisy. We have to sit beside each other instead of in front of us, since it's quite loud. So don't expect this place to be as intimate as other cafes. And the place is quite full. So be expected to wait a little if it is full. I wouldn't recommend bringing more than 4 people here. But overall, this is a very good cafe. We might come here again sometime later. Recommended.

It's been ages since I last visited this restaurant, back when they were still at Plaza Batai, but I've always meant to come back. Finally got the chance tonight, and it was so worth the wait! Of course, I had to order my absolute favorite pasta, the Pollo & Pesto. I also decided to try some of their new drinks and finished everything off with their tiramisu. The pasta was just as I remembered – bursting with flavor, that perfect pesto sauce coating the grilled chicken without being overpowering. I was also really glad I tried their mixed berries lemonade, it was so refreshing and did a great job of cleansing my palate for dessert. And as always, the highlight of the meal was the tiramisu. That classic combination of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese just melts in your mouth. It's absolutely perfect! I will definitely be coming back here again much sooner this time. This place is, and always will be, one of my favorites!

We came in a big group of around 10 adults with 2 kids and were seated at a long table in a cozy private corner. Although there was a 2-hour dining limit, they kindly allowed us to stay longer as more friends joined later. The food tasted good with generous portions, and the staff were attentive throughout. The café stays busy from lunch through tea time, clearly a popular spot!

Tucked inside The Five, Yellow Brick Road continues to charm with its thoughtful menu and inviting atmosphere. The only minor downside is the need to pay for parking before entering the building, but once you’re inside, the experience makes up for it. I started with the Australian Iced Coffee, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and dusted with chocolate powder. It wasn’t overly sweet, and the magic really happens as the ice cream melts—creating a creamy, velvety blend with the coffee that’s both smooth and satisfying. For my main, I had the Smashed Avocado. The highlight? Those perfectly crispy oyster mushrooms that add texture and flavor. It comes with two poached eggs, a drizzle of balsamic glaze, and grated cheese—everything balanced and beautifully plated. The Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl was another hearty dish, served with pickled radish, seaweed, and edamame. The combination of flavors felt wholesome and comforting, with just the right balance of sweet, savory, and fresh. I also tried the Tinman’s Catch fish burger, and it did not disappoint. The fish was tender without any overpowering fishiness, and the ingredients came together harmoniously in their homemade, fluffy brioche bun. Overall, the dining experience was delightful—great presentation, excellent flavors, and a warm, enjoyable ambiance. I’ll definitely be planning a return visit soon.

Visited Yellow Brick Road Cafe for brunch and loved the overall vibe — bright, modern, and relaxing. I had the Salted Egg Squid Pasta which was rich and creamy without being too heavy, and the YBR Tiramisu for dessert was light and perfectly balanced. For drinks, I tried the Avomazing Smoothies and Green Juice, both refreshing and freshly made. The cafe gets busy but the service was still friendly and attentive. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, and it’s a great place to chill with friends or have a slow weekend brunch. Highly recommended if you’re around Damansara!

While my visit was spurred by the much-hyped tiramisu, which I found to be rather average, the rest of the meal was a standout experience. The pesto pasta was vibrant and fresh, showcasing a well-balanced sauce that clung perfectly to the noodles. The mini Mac n Cheese was a pleasant surprise—creamy, rich, and clearly a hit with the younger diners at our table. The Fish n Chips delivered on all fronts: crispy, golden batter encasing flaky, tender fish. This establishment proves that while one dish may not live up to the fanfare, the overall quality and execution of the menu more than compensate. It's a place worth returning to, and I look forward to exploring the rest of their offerings.

Had a lovely lunch here with my husband Why did I only discover this place now?! We tried the Caesar Salad, The Kraken, Under The Sea & Super Skyscraper. The squid ink spaghetti was so good. I’m obsessed with the creamy gravy! And the pancake stayed super soft even after a while. The pancake can share 3-5 people. Would definitely repeat this cafe for breakfast next time!

Had lunch at Yellow Brick Road Café today and it was such a nice experience. The place feels cozy and bright, perfect for a weekend brunch or casual meal. I ordered the Chicken Berlado Rice Bowl and YBR Fish & Chip, both were delicious! The chicken was tender with a nice spicy kick, and the fish was crispy on the outside but soft inside. The Hot White Coffee was smooth and comforting — a great match to the meal. The staff were friendly and service was quick even though the café was quite busy. Prices are slightly above average, but the quality and ambience make it worth it. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again.
